A gold-standard, evidence-based interview to support accurate understanding and diagnosis

The DIVA-5 (Diagnostic Interview for ADHD in Adults, 5th Edition) is a structured clinical interview widely used to assess ADHD in adults. This comprehensive process explores current symptoms, developmental history, and how attention and executive functioning impact day-to-day life.

This assessment is conducted by Maggie Welling, LCSW-C, who has extensive experience working with adults whose ADHD symptoms may be overlooked, masked, or misunderstood. Her approach is trauma-informed and neurodivergent-affirming, with a focus on accuracy, context, and each client’s lived experience.

A structured, thoughtful process designed to provide clarity and meaningful insight

The DIVA-5 is a structured interview based on DSM-5 criteria, designed to support a thorough and comprehensive understanding of ADHD. Developed by clinicians, including women in the field, with a focus on real-life and often overlooked experiences, the assessment explores patterns across both childhood and adulthood—looking at attention, focus, and how these experiences show up in your day-to-day life.

This process is neurodivergent-affirming and grounded in understanding, not judgment—so you can walk away with clarity, validation, and a stronger sense of direction.

Assessment Approach

About the Experience

A clear, structured process designed to provide insight and direction

The evaluation is designed to feel structured without being overwhelming. You’ll be guided through an initial clinical interview, discussion of your reasons for seeking an evaluation, and a review of relevant personal, developmental, and medical history.

You will also complete the DIVA-5 assessment, which explores symptoms and patterns across both childhood and adulthood to better understand how ADHD may be showing up in your day-to-day life.

Following the assessment, written findings are provided within 5–7 business days, along with individualized recommendations and resources to support next steps.
For those interested in continued support, an optional package of three therapy sessions with Maggie is available at a reduced rate. These sessions can help you process results, build insight, and develop practical, ADHD-informed strategies.

Please note that completing an ADHD evaluation does not guarantee a diagnosis, as all outcomes are based on a comprehensive clinical review.

Clarity, Understanding, and Direction

Many clients leave feeling validated, more confident in their understanding of themselves, and better equipped with next steps.
